How Raid Remind works

The raid lead keeps talking in voice chat. Raiders keep playing. Raid Remind adds a clear written copy of each callout and a separate place for personal fight jobs.

For raid leads

  1. Open Raid Remind. Go to raidremind.app on a desktop PC in Chrome or Edge. Keep this tab open throughout the raid.
  2. Start a raid. Click “I’m the raid lead,” then Start raid. You receive a short raid code, a raider link, and an optional overlay link.
  3. Allow the microphone. When the browser asks, choose Allow. Select the same microphone you normally use for Discord so your callouts sound familiar and clear.
  4. Share the raid. Copy the raider link or short code into Discord or raid chat. Raiders can tap the link or type the code themselves. “Who’s joined” shows who is in your raid.
  5. Just talk. Continue leading the raid normally. After a short pause, each finished line appears in the raiders’ transcript. The brief pause helps the browser keep a complete sentence together instead of sending lots of tiny pieces.
  6. Prepare and send fight notes. Under Fight notes, choose “Add fight” to start a fight by hand, or “Import assignments” to upload a phase-based CSV file; either way, the pop-up editor opens. It lets you add up to 10 phases per fight, each with its own picture or diagram and per-player positions, cooldowns, and jobs. Press “Save” to put the fight card on the page, then press “Send <fight> notes” to share it. The card shows “Sent at” and marks edits with “Changes since last send.” Re-send any time and raiders see the updated notes right away. Only the browser that started the raid can send notes. Optional loot settings are in the Loot System card below Fight notes.
  7. Set the loot system (optional). Leave “Not set” to show only the dropdown, or choose Soft Res, Loot Council, EPGP, Hard Reserve, Need over Greed, DKP or Other. Every chosen type has a “Rules or link” box for up to 2000 characters; Other also lets you name your system in up to 40 characters. Press Save to share it: “Edited” shows the saved time, and raiders receive it without refreshing. Only the browser that started the raid can save. Picking Soft Res opens the softres.it box directly under the dropdown: paste your raid link and press Load, use Refresh after reserves change, or Upload CSV if softres.it can’t be reached. Show reserves lets you check everyone’s list; Remove clears the loaded reserves. Switching loot types only hides this box and keeps the reserves. If reserves are already loaded and no type is saved, Soft Res is preselected, but you still need to press Save to share the type.
  8. End the raid. Press “End raid” when the group is finished. This closes the code and clears that raid’s captions, character list, fights, assignment notes, uploaded pictures, loot information and soft-reserves.

For raiders

  1. Join with the code. Open the link from your raid lead, or go to raidremind.app and type the raid code. You can join before any notes are sent; you’ll see “You’re in! Waiting…” until the lead sends them.
  2. Enter your character name. Use the name you play in game. It should match the name your raid lead used in the fight notes so the right personal job reaches you.
  3. Keep the page nearby. Leave it open on a second monitor, laptop, tablet, or phone. Any modern browser works for raiders. You can also choose “View demo” to see an example.
  4. Check your fight notes. Phase tabs show only your own assignments: your position or zone, cooldowns, and jobs, with healer or Power Infusion cards where relevant. Tap a diagram to enlarge it. The “Raid Leader Captions” panel shows the scrollable live transcript, with a time beside each line. Notes and captions update without a refresh, including when the lead re-sends a fight. If you see “No notes for <name> in <fight>,” the lead has no notes for that name in that fight. If you misspelled your name, use “Switch raider / leave” and rejoin with the exact character name.
  5. Look up raid terms. Not sure what aggro, a HoT or a tankbuster is? The Glossary card sits right below the captions. Type a word and pick All, General, WoW or FFXIV to see up to 8 short definitions, or choose “See all in full Glossary” to open the full page in a new tab. On phones the card starts folded, so tap it to open. There’s also a small Glossary link in the top bar.
  6. Check the loot system. A read-only Loot System card sits in the right-hand column below the Raid Leader Captions and Glossary cards. It shows the chosen type, or the custom name for Other, the rules with clickable links, and the Edited time. Your own soft-reserves appear inside it; you never see anyone else’s reserves. Updates arrive without refreshing. If the lead has set nothing and you have no reserves, the card stays hidden.

You do not need an account, password, browser extension, or download. If you refresh during a raid, use the same code and character name to return.

Optional OBS overlay for streamers

Streamers can add the raid’s overlay link as a Browser Source in OBS. It shows only the raid lead’s latest lines in large, readable text over a transparent background. Older lines fade away during quiet moments, and the newest line stays at the bottom. The overlay never shows ads and does not add menus or other page furniture over the stream.

Tips for clearer captions

  • Use a good headset microphone and make sure the correct mic is selected in Chrome or Edge.
  • Speak in short, clear sentences rather than one long rush of instructions.
  • Pause briefly between separate callouts so each instruction becomes its own line.
  • Reduce loud background noise where possible. A quiet room helps the browser hear names and mechanics more accurately.
  • Keep voice chat as your main raid communication. Treat the text as a helpful second way to catch the call.
